CMS Building
Oxford Brookes University
The two-storey School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences incorporates many "green" features whilst retaining a low maintenance philosophy. It has a "U" shape to form a south facing semi-enclosed courtyard. This can be used for recreation, social gatherings and functions. The building was designed with the potential for future extensions to each wing and a courtyard infill.
The entrance on the north face is emphasised by a single storey lobby flanked by glazed walls. This leads into a double storey reception with glazing at ground and first floor to maximise natural light and create an inviting ambience.
